Italy’s staggering death rate has made headlines around the world. With an aging population, the country seems particularly hard hit with a majority of the over 8,000 victims recorded as being over 70 years old.
Italy is home to one of the highest concentrations of centenarians in the world and some have become infected with the deadly virus. However, in a spot of good news, one of the latest patients to recover from coronavirus was a 101-year-old.
The patient, identified only as Mr. P, was admitted to a hospital in Rimini, Italy last week. He tested positive for COVID-19, only to recover and be released yesterday.
