2 More Doctors Die of COVID-19 in Italy, for a total of 19

Monday claimed the lives of two more frontline medical workers in Italy. The doctors, based in Cremona and Parma, both passed away on March 23rd after becoming infected with the novel coronavirus.

This brings the total deaths among medical workers in Italy to 19. 4,824 medical workers in Italy have been infected in total, according to the ISS – Health Institute.

Despite the danger, Italy has seen a surge in medical volunteers. A recent appeal for 300 more doctors to assist with the health crisis received 8,000 applications.
