Italy’s New Cases Fall to Under 3,000/day for the First Time Since March 13th

Italy has been aggressively testing for coronavirus since the extent of the outbreak became clear. Finally, for the first time in over a month, the number of new cases in one day dropped below 3,000. 2,972┬ánew positives were found on 14 April – the lowest one day increase since 13 March.

Italy has now performed over one million tests: 1,073,689 to be exact.

Unfortunately, the number of deaths increased on Tuesday. 602 people in Italy died of coronavirus on April 14th, compared to 566 the day before. The death toll in Italy has now reached 21,067. This includes 116 Italian doctors who have died of the virus.
