Pope Tests Negative for Coronavirus

According to the Vatican spokesman, Matteo Bruni Pope Francis is not infected by the Coronavirus but has suffered a common cold.

Concerns for the Pope began when Pope Francis appeared to be coughing and blowing his nose at the church of San Sabina on the Aventine Hill during Ash Wednesday mass.

There were further concerns when the Pope canceled a week-long Lent retreat, the first time he has done so since he became Pope on the 13th of March, 2013.

The 83-year-old Pope has had a history of illness in the past, and had to have a part of his lung removed when he suffered from tuberculosis in his twenties back in Argentina.

Italy has the highest number of people infected by the Coronavirus with over 2,000 people in total. Thankfully the Pope has tested negative despite the fact that he is surrounded by numerous amount of people on a daily basis.
